Why Choose the InBody 580?

A regular scale shows only total weight. The InBody 580 estimates how that weight is distributed across body fat, skeletal muscle and body water. It also provides segmental information that helps us establish a useful baseline and track meaningful changes over time.

Your result sheet may include:

  • Body fat percentage
  • Skeletal muscle mass
  • Visceral fat area
  • Body water analysis
  • Basal metabolic rate estimate
  • Segmental lean analysis
  • Body composition changes over time
Available measurements depend on the result sheet configuration. I will personally walk you through the
information that matters most for your goals.

Who can benefit?

  • Anyone beginning a weight-loss or wellness program
  • Clients using GLP-1 medications who want to monitor muscle while losing weight
  • People who want to understand whether changes are coming from body fat, muscle or water
  • Women navigating menopause-related body-composition changes
  • Adults focused on metabolic wellness and healthy aging
  • Athletes or active adults monitoring muscle development
  • Existing clients who want objective progress measurements

Why body composition matters

Two people can weigh exactly the same and have very different amounts of muscle and body fat. A
traditional scale cannot show that difference. Looking beyond total weight gives us a more useful way to
establish a baseline, monitor trends and personalize your nutrition plan.

Weight loss can include both fat and lean tissue. If you use a GLP-1 medication such as Wegovy®,
Zepbound®, Mounjaro® or Ozempic®, regular body composition monitoring can help you and your
healthcare team see whether your plan is supporting muscle retention as your weight changes.

The scan does not replace medical care, medication management or guidance from your prescribing
provider.

What to expect

Your first Body Composition Snapshot

The scan itself takes about 30 seconds. Your first appointment is scheduled for approximately 30 minutes so we have time to review your results.

Your Body Composition Progress Scan

A repeat scan helps you compare changes in body fat, muscle and body water over time. For the most
useful comparison, schedule repeat scans under similar conditions and at approximately the same time of
day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the scan take?

The measurement itself takes about 30 seconds. Your first appointment includes time for a personal review
of your results.

Please wait at least 3 hours after your last meal. Consistency from one scan to the next is important for
progress tracking.

Avoid strenuous exercise before testing because exercise can temporarily shift body water and affect the
result.

Many clients repeat the scan every 2–4 weeks, depending on their goals and program. I will recommend an
interval that makes sense for you.

No. The InBody 580 uses bioelectrical impedance analysis. It does not use X-rays or ionizing radiation.

The Reset Spot does not bill insurance for InBody scans. HSA or FSA eligibility varies, so please check with
your plan administrator.

Yes. One of the biggest advantages of the InBody 580 is that it helps monitor both fat loss and muscle preservation, especially for clients following GLP-1 medications or calorie-restricted nutrition plans.
